This is true! During the early years of the university, students wore down the grass and made paths that were convenient for themselves to travel upon. When they eventually paved these areas, they simply used the student-made paths to start from. This is particularly evident in the area around Beaumont Tower. Just another great example of how Michigan State’s students have quite literally always shaped the university and made it what it is today!
